 -- Brief overview of EU law: Residence rights and rights to claim benefits.

 -- EU Advocacy Techniques: ways of bringing domestic law in line with EU law:

  • Strategic litigation (in the domestic courts and CJEU)
  • Other forms of EU advocacy
  • Building networks & an evidence base

 -- Case study I – Strategic Litigation under EU law.

 -- Case study II – Raising legal issues with the EU Commission.

 -- Interactive session with audience: What are the current issues & how can we address them jointly

This training is designed for those providing assistance and/or representation to EU migrants, but is open to all. It aims to provide expert guidance and advice on how to advocate on behalf of individuals within EU mechanisms and will use real life examples to show the different approaches that can be taken.
