Every year we receive thousands of requests for legal advice through our telephone advice line, emails, and through our advice surgeries. These requests come from individuals, NGOs and other practitioners working in the sector. This year alone we have taken 37 new cases to tribunal and we have taken on 430 new cases.
We have noticed that since Brexit that there has been a sharp increase in demand, and in order to respond to this we are raising funds to increase our capacity and to support our pre-existing services.
Many of the women who access our services may have no other recourse to legal information and it is therefore we continue our work providing specialised legal advice. These women are often victims of domestic violence, human trafficking, and other forms of complex abuse.
We would like to thank all of our supporters, and especially the Pilgrim Trust for generously match funding our campaign.
