The Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence

The Domestic Violence Convention is the only international treaty which specifically and comprehensively looks at combating violence against women and protecting victims of such violence. At present, the Convention has 27 signatories, including the UK which signed up to the Convention on 8 June 2012.
